Mature YA Paranormal Romance

Alyssa Worthington is the daughter and sole heir to the most prestigious coven in the witch world. She never would envision an ex-high school quarterback from a small town in Montana being her salvation. Dark Secrets, dark magic and a desperate desire for revenge will bring Alyssa to the brink of destruction. Will she survive? Will she overcome or will her destiny rest on being Crescent Bound

We approach the front door, there sits a young, absolutely stunning guy, leaning with his back against the door and his very long legs cross in front of him. He reminds me a bit like a young Antonio Banderas. His long dark black hair just touches his broad shoulders. His deep dark eyes gaze at us and he gets up with excitement.
“Ah, Amici,”
Lisa and I glance at each other and say together “Italian...figures,” shrugging casually.
He leans over and brushes off the unseen dirt from his black leather pants and continues in broken English, “She, ah won’ta let in…” He points towards the front door.
“Hi, I’m Alyssa and this is Lisa, we are here to help you. Ah, “Siamo qui per aiutarti.”
“Ah, si, si, Alberto,” He says motioning to himself.
He also reminds me of a wet puppy trying to go inside after being scolded for something he didn’t know he did. Soon we can all have a little chat.
I knock on the door three good hard knocks, wait another second and knock again with the same exact rhythm. It’s our own secret code we’ve made up just for situations like this. Megan unlocks the door and stands before me, smiling apologetically. I don’t return the smile, instead I sigh in disappointment as I walk in the house.
Lisa, and Antonio, which is instantly our nickname for him, follows along too.
As we all enter the foyer, he grabs Megan hungrily and kisses her like it’s his last chance to touch her bewitching lips, which, yeah, it is.
Megan tries pushing him away, but has the willpower of pure tissue paper and begins heatedly kissing him back. Can’t really blame her, he is a very hot Italian stallion. “Ahem, Megan shall we.”
Gently at first and finally with more resolve, she shoves him back. “Alberto, stop it, enough.”
He moves back enough for them to breathe.
“Ah, my gattino selvatico,” Lisa looks at me questioningly by squinting her eyes.
I answer with amusement. “His nickname for our Megan is wild kitten.” Lisa bursts into laughter.
“I’ve wrong you,” Alberto slash Antonio says with pleading eyes to Megan.
Megan meets his gaze and says in a well rehearsed tone, “Alberto, it’s nothing you’ve done, it’s just something I need to work on, come… let’s just sit down over here, so we can talk more about it.”
I’m leaning on the wall with arms crossed, waiting, and then calmly follow Megan and her lover down the hallway into the living room. She has already prepared the black and red candles, which illuminate the room. She seductively motions Alberto to sit down on the couch, with a simple come-hither glance. Lisa takes her usual position on the left side of Alberto and I casually walk in front of him. Megan stands behind him massaging his shoulders, keeping him relaxed. The last thing we want is for him to panic on us.
Megan’s relaxation techniques are working because his body becomes less rigid and he starts closing his eyes enjoying her addicting touch. Lisa quickly hands me my book of shadows, as I start to kneel on the rug about three feet from the couch.
I instantly turn to the correct page. You know if I drop my book, I truly believe it will open to this precise page. We have done this spell entirely too much, you would think I’d have it down by now. I never want to chance it. To make sure of no mistakes I speak the spell in the exact order and follow my book precisely. My oath is to harm none and that is my intention. The last thing we need is Megan’s lover becoming a flying monkey or something.
Megan moves to Alberto’s right, and they both raise their hands in the air, calling their elements to them, a light breeze swirls around us, tossing our hair around. The candles flicker, but remain lit. I place my hands on either side of Alberto’s head, gently placing my index fingers directly on his temples. I focus my eyes making them brighter, more alluring and I begin speaking in my enchanting voice.
“Hear me, goddess of the moon, from the other worlds; hear me god of the light. Remove the shadow thoughts from his sight.”Alberto’s eyes are wide and deep as I pierce into them with my gaze. He sits motionless, and all I see is his breathing, the simple rise and fall as he enters my trance. Once I know he is fully enthralled I continue, “Lord of witches, hear our plea, with the witches call of three, gaze into his thoughts as we sing, memories forgotten thrice bells ring.”
Megan and Lisa join me as we proceed.
“Protecting three with secrets abound. Musing of this will be abscond. Memory sweeps hence thy sleep, for time enough to leave the keep. The goddess’s gaze through darkest night removes the shadow thoughts from his sight. Trouble fades, with memories abide. God’s of power, lord of the sun, what we banish, may naught be undone. Lord of all witches, gods of the day, and all of nature grant me your favor to stay. In the name of the goddess and gods, harm ye none, so mote it be.”
The enigmatic air quickly fills the room with energy and gusts of wind. Blowing curtains accent us as we continue with the chant two more times, in unison.
I watch as Alberto’s eyes slowly close, not to open again until sunrise, now the real challenge, getting him home…

Her passion outside of writing is photography and all things natural. The sighting, as it is referred to, occurred in Eureka Springs, Arkansas one of the top ten most haunted hotels, The Crescent Hotel. This experience captured Karli in ways that have expanded her beliefs about the possibilities of other realms.

As a teen, Karli was an avid reader, she sought out solitude for her passion in nearby Indian Graveyards. Although writing was something that has pulled at her most of her life, it wasn't until a recent visit to a Shaman, who saw her spirit's need for creativity, that she truly began down the path.

The Crescent Bound series is her first work which will consist of five books in all. She is simply thrilled to be able to share all the adventures of Alyssa Worthington with you.Karli's ideal world would be one of open-minded kindness from everyone.
